The Canes

The Canes did not have a power-play goal in each of their last two games, but that's been a rarity in December.
Carolina was 7-for-21 on the power play this month, the best in the league, until going 0-for-2 each game in the back-to-back Friday and Saturday against the Florida Panthers. The improved production has helped the Canes make a modest bump in their offensive numbers -- they're 28th on the power play but have moved to 27th in goals scored
per game (2.43).
"Some of it's confidence, I guess," Canes coach Paul Maurice said today. "But I thought even in the month prior, our chances per power power ratio was very high, and it was lot of things. The puck wasn't going in the net for guys."
